When buying your instrument I recommend staying clear of ebay, cash converters and other second hand shops. It can be risky business investing in an instrument online or a second hand instrument that may need hundreds if not thousands spent on it. If you buy from a reputable music store you will be guaranteed a quality instrument, and you will have a warranty and come back if anything goes wrong. Most good stores also do repairs and fix any problems that may arise.
I highly recommend checking out the following stores:
The Music Place – South Melbourne
Ozwinds – Ormond
Allans Billy Hyde – Blackburn
If you are not sure about buying an instrument, you can always look into hiring one. Most music stores do have hire programs, and I also have limited instruments available for my students to hire. Check HERE to see what instruments are currently available.
